The Story Behind Three Creeks Kitchen + Cocktails
Three Creeks Kitchen + Cocktails emerged from the beloved O'Toole’s Irish Pub, with a fresh vision under seasoned restaurateur Joe Grundey. Drawing on decades of industry experience and a collaborative leadership team, including Executive Chefs Alexandra Serfaty and Andrew Hillis (formerly of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants), Three Creeks blends expertise and innovation. Creative Director Alaina Short and Payton Grundey, Joe’s daughter, bring dynamic energy to the front of house, creating a vibrant and welcoming dining experience.

Joe Grundey
Chief Executive Officer / Owner
Joe Grundey, a seasoned bar and restaurant entrepreneur, brings a wealth of experience to the industry. After opening The Yard Club, a successful American steakhouse in Old Hilliard at just twenty-seven, Joe took a break from the restaurant world to focus on other business ventures and raising his family. Now, sixteen years later, he returns with a renewed passion for hospitality, an accredited management team, and a commitment to putting employees first—demonstrated by offering partial ownership to his upper management. Joe is eager to share his vision with the community, creating a welcoming space in the heart of Gahanna.

Alexandra Serfaty is a skilled culinary professional with extensive experience in both patisserie and savory cooking. With a passion for transforming everyday inspirations into creative dishes, she draws from her pastry background to add unique garnishes and intricate shapes to her creations. She enjoys elevating dishes with flavored liqueurs or fortified wines, enhancing flavors that otherwise remain untapped. Alexandra's diverse experience includes roles at Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and as a patisserie expert at Pistacia Vera, which have shaped her impeccable technique and innovative approach. Alongside her culinary partner, she aims to bring a harmonious blend of innovation, collaboration, and excellence to the kitchen.
Andrew Hillis
Executive Chef / Owner
Andrew Hillis is a dedicated culinary professional with extensive experience, including over thirty years in the industry, having worked with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and other esteemed Columbus establishments. He began his career at The Worthington Inn during its peak, starting as a dishwasher and quickly rising through the ranks by mastering every station in the kitchen. Known for his hard work and drive, Andrew briefly stepped away from the food industry but soon realized that his passion for cooking was where he truly belonged.

Payton Grundey, Managing Director and part of the ownership team at Three Creeks Kitchen + Cocktails, has nearly two decades of experience working behind the scenes in her father's businesses. She also brings hands-on expertise as manager and co-owner of a successful beverage center. With a strong focus on guest experience and hospitality, Payton strives to meet every guest's needs, while also aiming to create an inviting and welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

Creative Director Alaina Short draws on her extensive experience from the renowned Columbus establishment Wolf's Ridge Brewing, where she has honed her expertise in innovative design and brand strategy. She has skillfully crafted beer can labels, menus, and event designs—both private and public—while also playing a key role in social media management. Alaina's true passion lies in merging marketing with artistry, resulting in products and experiences that are not only visually captivating but also resonate deeply with people.
